About me
I am a qualified IT Specialist for System Integration (IHK) working in client and end-user support in large environments – first at the Klinikum Mittelbaden hospital group, today at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Rastatt. My focus is running Linux servers: at home I operate two Debian servers with containerised services, zero-trust access without open router ports, automated backups to a secondary system and monitoring. I am currently building a Proxmox VE test environment.
I moved into IT deliberately – after years in the German Armed Forces, the automotive industry and as a coach. From that I bring reliability, calm under pressure and the ability to explain technology clearly.

🐧 Linux server operations
Debian & Ubuntu, systemd, cron, Bash scripting, package management, logs with journalctl, SSH with key management.

Key-only SSH, fail2ban, TLS ≥ 1.2, HSTS and security headers incl. Content Security Policy; public-facing container without root privileges.
💾 Backup & monitoring
Automated backups with rotation and a copy to a secondary system, integrity checks, alerting; Uptime Kuma and Netdata.

Docker & Compose, Portainer, KVM/libvirt; Proxmox VE with cloud-init templates (in progress).

User and permission management in AD (hands-on), Windows Server 2022 with AD DS, DNS and DHCP (lab/IHK project), Windows 10/11.

🏠 Self-hosted Linux infrastructure
Two Debian servers running 24/7: containerised services, publishing via Cloudflare Tunnel without open ports, hardening, automated backups to a secondary system with alerting and monitoring. This website runs on it.
🖥️ Proxmox VE test environment
Proxmox VE 9 with Debian templates via cloud-init, VMs deployed from the CLI. In progress: backup/restore, AD domain with Windows Server 2022, automation with Ansible.
🗺️ Final IHK project: IPAM/DDI
Isolated lab domain (Windows Server 2022 with AD DS, DNS, DHCP) and evaluation of a DDI/IPAM solution incl. RBAC, reporting and audit – replacing spreadsheet-based IP management.
